Hey Rick! Like everyone else on here, I'm looking for the first Berlin Airlift album either on CD or to download. It would be awesome if I could download it from iTunes. Who would of thunk back in `82 that people would download your music online and play it on an iPod or cellphone!! Best of luck to you.

Rick, Haven't recieved any emails from you in a while. My email address has changed. Can you put me back on your list? Use to take vocal lessons from you in the mid 80's. I also did the Boston scene gigging with my band back then, at least we made it on WBCN then. I've been through hell since then, loosing people, places and things due to deppression and addiction. trying to get it together now and go back to the studio to record some music I think is real good. Thanks to you and all your musicians you work and have worked with because it gets me off my ass and picks me up and influences me greatly! Tons of people love you and you're music! You are one of my favorite musicians ever, up there with the Beatles, Queen, Todd Rungren etc... Thank you so much and hope to see you soon at a gig! Tony Alberini, Ashland, MA

RBerlin - I spent some time on your site tonight after finding a 1980s vid of Berlin Airlift performing 'Over The Hill' on YouTube. It caused me to realize what a fan I've always been of your music. You always have had great bands because you always had great songs! So I had to look you up and offer my kudos on a body of work so well done! Your fan, c

Rick, It's Dennis, your partner in the male chorus from last night. Thanks for taking the bait and coming up. Just want you to know we would consider it a great honor if you would be our special guest on a Wednesday in May or June. There is a piano and it is yours to play, we will learn three songs, anything you like as long as they're not too difficult. We must do a duet, any ideas? No pay but you can drink our dressing room beer, sell cd's and, and promote whatever shows you have coming up. Thanks again, Dennis

Hi Rick, I was thinking about you and am glad to see the many things that you have done. I of course I had many pleasant nights in the open air at Lucy In The Sky, with Orchestra Luna. I even helped move your equipment out of a few rain storms up there--we all pitched in back then. Of course, I assisted you all in the Berlin Airlift record at the hit factory. I've seen Karla a few times since, but not you. It would be nice to talk to you again, even if brief. Are you still in touch with Karla and Robby? Email me if you have a chance!! Rick, Normally, when I jump from one sample to the next, not listening to the end of the song, it's because I'd heard enough and am ready to move on. However, when I heard Me & Van Gogh, and then jumped to the next and then the next, it was because I just wanted to confirm what I already knew - that I definitely wanted to buy it. Beautiful work! Absolutely exquisite!

Rick, Just wanted to say thank you for the music. I used to go to The Channel every time you and The Movie were performing and remember how you started as a second act and became headliners. GAWD those were the days. Anyway, I still have the cassette that I bought back then and it's still sounds fantastic. Recently, I bought a little gizmo that allows you to take records and cassettes and change them to MP3s. First one I did was my Rick Berlin - The Movie tape and it's sounds as good now as it did when I got it for Christmas in 198? Thanks again!

Rick, You are an enormous part of many of our musical lives. I have had the privilege of befriending musicians other than myself who have been blessed with your undying inspiration and friendship and have gone on to do great things. You gave me my first gig although I nearly blew it. I remember your phone call about 4 hours before playing at the Lizard Lounge in Boston… I picked up the phone while obliviously at the piano to hear your voice on the other end of the line saying, “You ready to play tonight?” I was like... “Of course… I’ll see you there.” I can’t remember how old I was but it was certainly underage. My heart was beating a million miles per hour because I hadn’t written any music for the show nor did I have a BAND! I forgot all about the gig… Hell, I was planning on going to see it. I forgot I was supposed to play too! I remember having to put the band together, write 30 – 40 minutes of music and rehearse the group all within 2 hours of the show…Ha. Thank you for the opportunity… You encouraged me and we sounded great. That night taught me preparation and scheduling. I’ll also never forget your patience at the piano listening to some (terrible) songs that I was writing and your suggestions and encouragement to keep writing and not to mention hooking me up with voice lessons from Mark Baxter himself who I’m sure wouldn’t remember me from a hole in the wall. Fast forward, with the influence of you and your former band mates Steve Perry, Joe Pet and Mike Mangini, I was able to grow enough to work or play with everyone from D12(Eminem), Onyx, Gospel Gangstaz, Andrea Crouch, Oscar Cartya, Walter Beasley, Stanton Davis and others all in one capacity or another… Other friends of ours that had their lives touched by you have been Joe Pet (Joe Perry Project, Buddy Guy, etc.), Mike Mangini (Extreme, Steve Vai, Annihilator, etc.), Steven Paul Perry (John Haitt, The Human Condition, etc.) and many, many others. I think I’m the only one on the list that hadn’t been part of your band at one time or another, but I always wanted to be. You are nothing less than amazing, a true artist. I think I can speak for all of us by saying we love you, respect you and thank you for the years. I was in Boston over the holiday and regret not dropping by… But, I will be visiting for my brother’s wedding in September… I will be sure to pay you a visit. Wish I could be there for the CD release… Either way, I need to get a copy of everything especially Rock and Roll Romance. Best wishes on all your endeavors…

Rick, Although I rarely went by my given name back when Doris Dreams was performed, as a Doris, I have always felt empathy for the Doris in the hauntingly beautiful but disturbing Barrettesque song that Liz and Lisa bring to life. From having seen you on a PBS panel, I learned that you were no longer Kirsherf but Berlin and googled you to return to some wonderful memories of the Harry Bee days. Now a retired teacher with four grandchildren, I return to your magical Doris Dreams world when I hear Luna. All the colors of the world have changed, but classics live on. For that reason, I am very sad to hear about Peter Barrett, a man whose genius I have never forgotten. As an avid Sox fan who finally had the big year, how I wished that "You Gotta Have Heart" would have been part of the festivities, and Peter would have to have been there with his "...and a headless Jayne Mansfield..." Your music has touched many generations; in fact, as a Medford teacher I left behind a young, talented, musician/reviewer who also has Rick contacts - Max Heinegg. I will visit the old and new music often and fill my naugahyde chair with rich memories and new tunes. Good health to you and yours, Doris

Hello there, is this the same band that performed in Northampton, Ma, back in the early 1970's? Were you not only quite musical, but also had a great stage persona? That Orchestra Luna, presented a super show, which stimulated all the senses, not just audio. Either way, I really love the sound of your music Rick. You have a wonderful and very personal talent, which has allowed you to find a personal song writing style! Your a pro, and I'm glad your still creating, so keep up the good work. Gil

Well, a few of us Boston expatriates were sitting around talking the other night, I drinking from my Doyles' glass, about Boston music, and inevitably - what with two topics in the air with Rick Berlin written all over them - we started talking about you. Rick, the consensus remains thaat you were a national treasure before you were even a Doyles' waiter, but now you're an icon. The city fathers should commission an esplanade statue of you teabaggging Arthur Fiedler. (It wouldn't be too expensive, because the Fiedler sculpture's already there.)

Dear Richard, My life-long friend, David Milberg, lived in a place in Brighton that Orchestra Luna members shared. That was his introduction to you and my good fortune as well. We saw your band every chance we had at the Playhouse in Westport, CT (during several evolutions of bandmembers), a club in New Haven when Billie was your manager (was it '76?), Lincoln Center, Academy of Music (before Sparx) and even ventured all the way after a day game at Fenway to race to the Cape Cod Coliseum to try and catch you opening for Todd Rundgren. Much as I enjoy Todd, it was Luna we went to see. That night it was not to be but I still have your original vinyl here in Taipei. I was listening to my favorite cut, Doris Dreams, and started surfing the internet. Low and behold, I tapped into Two great sites. I want to hear more. Everybody Looks the Same to Me", "The Doctor of Love", and other performance pieces that require DVD to appreciate fully. Too bad Epic was not a label with the "vision" to properly market your unique band. If there is ever a way to get MP3s of those songs, please send them.

Richard, You guys did a gig for a few weeks in NYC at a place named "The Little Hippodrome" on E 56th St.. It was a rather bizarre situation; Dick Scanga was trying to operate a dinner-theatre, something not having done in some time and I had the fabulous good fortune to be the bartender there at that time. This was, without a doubt one of the best experiences of my ENTIRE life. To this day I play your album, hum the somgs, protect my Vinyl with my life (went back into a burning apartment to retrieve IT, before all other's - I admit I went back first for the cats, but your album was the only other thing that was snatched. Every time I listen to any of the songs, I actually hear you guys on stage, live. The passion and energy, the emotion and pathos never leave me. It is possibly the best and surely the most unique recording I own and expect can never be surpassed. Thank you for it. I am glad to hear you are well. Chris Sheehan
